If you type a full Norwegian website address into a Google window and click search, it will come up with an option in the list to "translate this page".

Click on translate and you will get an English version of the page. It is a literal translation, and so is sometimes quite entertaining!

Remember that:

å is pronounced "ah"

ø is pronounced "ir" as in bird.

æ is pronounced "ay" but "a" as in bad if followed by an "r"

ki, kj, skj, sky, tj are all pronounced "sh"

the e on the end of words is never silent and always pronounced "er"

So, kjøpe is pronounced "shirper" and is a bit like SHOPPER and means to buy.

The æ, ø and å words are found at the end of the dictionary.
