Digital TV via aerial/antenna

Norwegian TV can be accessed via an antenna on the outside of your house. This system provides a similar package to basic cable TV channels. The limitations are that:
- You have to have an antenna mounted outside. Some apartment complexes will not allow anything to be mounted on their structure.
- It has a mix of Norwegian and a few English speaking channels.
- You have to have a receiver box by your TV.
- The basic installation only allows for one receiver in the house. Extra receivers are available at 70% of the main package price. Each one requires a cable link to the antenna.
Norwegian digital TV packages have some English-speaking programmes with Norwegian or Danish subtitles, such as National Geographic etc.
They also show a fair amount of English and American shows on the national TV channels from NRK (pronounced en-err-kor!) They also have Norwegian stereo radio channels. You can also get films in surround sound if you have the speakers and subscribe to the film package.
Digital TV in Stavanger is provided by RiksTV. They provide a receiver box (mottaker) which is connected to your TV and to the antenna. They assume that you already have a TV antenna (the usual roof-mounted type). We can provide and install a suitable antenna if not.
Billing is monthly (12 mnd abonnement) with a set-up fee (etableringsavgift) and an access card (kortavgift) payable every six months. Note that the extra film or sports package prices are on top of the main package. You can pay for a month-by-month card if you can't commit to a year, but you have to buy the digital receiver separately.
